All About Soho...

On our second day we began with the first of many early starts, for a lecture on Spanish Fashion Retail with Julie McColl and Louise McBride, both very engaging lecturers from the and only GCU.

This lecture included information about Spanish Retail Groups - our favourites being Inditex and Mango alongside models of Retail Internationalization.

In the afternoon we took a trip to the Madrid Soho District. We visited a lot of smaller, lesser known boutiques. These were a lot more unique and quirky than the big names in fashion.
This is best demonstrated through our photos...

This store, Blue Dip sold hand dyed coloured trousers.

The owner told us that she chose this store specifically not only because of its key location but because of the amount of natural light in the store.

Light is very important in creating a positive atmosphere and complimenting the range of colours.

This vintage boutique was one of our favourites because of the cute and quirky visual merchandising!

This Retail Route was rounded off by Sangria in the Square at what we think is the Spanish version of Weatherspoons...

We then finished the day off with a traditional Spanish dinner - Tapas!

We made a guess at the Spanish on the menu and ended up with some delicious dishes.. and some unexpectedly fishy ones. But we're learning!

Hasta Luego!
